Dr. Cameron Williams
Principal Psychologist
Cameron is a caring and approachable neuro-affirming psychologist, who is passionate about helping individuals flourish in all areas of their lives. Cameron has a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), and has also submitted his PhD (with the Black Dog Institute). He has experience supporting individuals of all ages and with a wide range of difficulties. He is also passionate about supporting neurodiverse individuals (e.g., ADHD’ers and autistic clients) - drawing from his lived experience to help them harness the strengths that can come from their own neuro-diversity.
Throughout his work, Cameron aims to support all individuals to become their best possible selves. He strongly believes that each client is unique and wonderful - and he strives to support and empower his clients to identify and work towards goals that are personally meaningful to them. To achieve this, Cameron uses a broad range of counselling skills (often including humour where appropriate), and helps individuals to recognise their own personal strengths. He also often focuses on helping individuals to be kind to themselves (you will regularly hear him talking about self-compassion), especially during the tough times in life. Ultimately, while Cameron uses a wide variety of therapeutic approaches, he believes that the most important aspect of therapy is to build a supportive bond with clients and to empathically ‘walk together with them’ through their own personal journeys.
When Cameron is not supporting his clients, he enjoys pretending to be a foodie, snuggling his adorable cat (Harry), playing violin, and struggling to decide what TV show to watch!
Caitlin Ford
Practice Manager &
Admin Support
Our principal psychologist, Cameron, believes that behind every great psychologist, there is an even better practice manager and admin superstar. This helps ensure that all clients feel supported from their very first interaction with The Healing Dock, whether that be via email or a phone call. Likewise, by having optimal administrative support, therapy sessions at The Healing Dock can be focused solely on delivering a safe and nurturing space, in which optimal assistance is provided (without needing to think about the paperwork).
Our practice manager, Caitlin, is available to help with any administrative queries that you may have (e.g., relating to bookings, payments and Medicare rebates, or reports/letters). Caitlin has extensive experience in administrative work, and is also a psychology student - which means that she is very well equipped to help with any administrative matters in an efficient, professional, and caring manner.
Harriet (aka. ‘Harry’)
CFO
(Chief Feline Officer)
Introducing Harry, our CFO (Chief Feline Officer) at The Healing Dock. While she is a shy girl, who is still becoming familiar with her role (and only involves herself in our Telehealth sessions), Harry can bring a unique sense of comfort and solace to our virtual sessions - but, of course, only if you would like her to do so. With her soothing presence, gentle purrs, and friendly companionship, she's an essential part of our team who provides us with much joy. Pending her busy schedule (which is spent doing kitty-cat things like window gazing and bug hunting), in our telehealth sessions, you have the option to have Harry virtually share her warmth, making your experience all the more comforting, even through the screen.
