FAQs

  • Currently, the Healing Dock Psychology focuses predominantly on adults and older adolescents / soon-to-be adults. In saying that, our principal psychologist also has extensive experience and training with supporting young people of all ages (through a variety of challenges). Therefore, if you are under 18 years and seeking therapy, please send through an enquiry and we will speak with you further to determine whether this would be an appropriate fit.

  • Currently The Healing Dock does not offer bulk-billing services. We recommend consulting with your GP to arrange alternative services.

  • Our standard session fee is $240.00 (prior to any applicable Medicare or Private Health Insurance rebates). A full breakdown of our Pricing Structure can be found here.

  • For initial appointments, we request individuals to fill out an Enquiry Form. Our admin team will then contact you to confirm a suitable appointment time. You will then receive an email with details of your appointment alongside payment details. If you are unable to complete the Enquiry Form, please contact us on 0485 840 409.

  • After attending your first therapy session, you will receive an email with details on how to book future appointments online. You can find the online booking portal here.

  • The frequency of your therapy appointments will be discussed between yourself and your therapist. Generally, clients can expect to have appointments once every 2 - 4 weeks. We recommend and encourage all clients to attend all of their appointments to ensure they are receiving the full benefits of therapy.

  • The Healing Dock requires full payment 48 hours AFTER requesting an appointment booking. This is due to a variety of factors which are fully disclosed in our Policy + T&C’s guide. You can download a copy here.

  • You do not need a referral to see a psychologist; however, you will require a GP referral and Mental Health Care Plan if you intend to claim a partial rebate through Medicare.

  • Each private health insurer will have different requirements and rebates based on your level of funding. It is important that you confirm your entitlements directly through them.

  • Session lengths vary depending on the type of service you require. Typical therapy sessions are around 50 minutes, however certain appointment types can be scheduled for a longer time period (additional fees apply).

  • In order to receive a full refund, we require at least 48 hours notice for all cancellations or appointment rescheduling. A full breakdown of our cancellation policy, including cancellation fees, can be found here.
